These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of StockBud (the "Service"), operated by StockBud, an independent project ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. The Service is offered for use in the United States; we make no representation that it is appropriate or available elsewhere.
StockBud is an informational and educational stock-research tool. It provides factor scores, screeners, charts, fundamentals, portfolio analytics, alerts, and AI-generated summaries of public information.
StockBud is not a financial, investment, tax, or legal adviser. We are not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, or fiduciary. Nothing in the Service is personalized investment advice or a recommendation, offer, or solicitation to buy or sell any security. All content is impersonal information of general application and does not account for your individual circumstances. You are solely responsible for your own investment decisions. Past performance and any modeled or projected figures (including Monte Carlo projections) do not guarantee future results. Consult a licensed professional before making investment decisions.
You must provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and are responsible for all activity under your account. One account is for one person; do not share access. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
The Service is currently free during early access. If and when paid plans are introduced, paid plans will be billed in advance on a recurring basis through our payment processor (Stripe); we do not store your full card details. By subscribing you would authorize recurring charges until you cancel. You may cancel at any time via the customer portal; cancellation stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable. We may change prices with reasonable prior notice; changes apply to the next billing period.

The Service incorporates data and services from third parties, including SEC EDGAR, FRED (Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis), our market-data provider, SnapTrade (brokerage connectivity), and Anthropic (AI). Such data is provided "as is" and may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. Prices are generally end-of-day and/or delayed, not real-time, and your brokerage statement is the source of truth for your holdings. We are not responsible for third-party data errors or outages, and your use of third-party data is also subject to those providers' terms where applicable.
If you connect a brokerage account, you do so through SnapTrade and consent to SnapTrade's end-user terms. Connections are read-only — StockBud cannot place trades, move money, or modify your brokerage account. We store the resulting access tokens encrypted and you may disconnect at any time.
Certain features use AI (Anthropic's Claude) to summarize filings and market information. AI output may be incomplete or wrong, can misread source documents, and is not advice. Verify anything important against primary sources (e.g., the underlying SEC filing) before relying on it.
The Service, its software, design, and original content are owned by us or our licensors and protected by law. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use under these Terms. Data sourced from third parties remains theirs.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service or any data will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, investment losses, or data, arising from or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or (b) USD $100.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.
We may suspend or terminate your access for violation of these Terms or to protect the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive (e.g., 9–12, 14) survive termination.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, United States, without regard to conflict of laws rules.
We may update these Terms; material changes will be notified via the Service or email. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
